Issue #4 is now out on the stands, so go grab your copy while it it still available (or order it from TFAW.com).  I have my copy and I will try to get the synopsis/review posted much quicker than I did with issue #3.  Check back here shortly for that and also chime in with your own comments on the comic book.

Confirmed: Jericho Season 4 Issue #3 Is Now Out

My comic shop got it in about a week late, but it is out (much quicker than it took us to get Issue #2).  If your shop hasn't received it yet, you and order it from TFAW.com, though oddly the IDW site still does not show it available yet.  I'm running behind this month, so I will get the synopsis and review up when I can, but in the mean time go grab your own copy and let IDW know that we want this to be an ongoing series, not just a limited run.

Jericho Season 4 #2 FINALLY HERE!!!

Update 2/27/2013: The second issue of the Jericho Season 4 comic book is finally out!  TFAW.com had shown a release date of February 20th, but then they showed the issue back-ordered when that day arrived.  And my local shop didn't get it either.  But I stopped by there today, and it had finally come in, so I can confirm that the phantom issue #2 is finally a reality.  Unless you pre-ordered it, there's a good chance your local comic book shop won't have it as this series has probably fallen off most people's radars.  But you can order it from TFAW.com at the link below or directly from the IDW site at this link.  Enjoy it, because it will probably be another six plus months before we get the next issue!  You can read my review/synopsis at this link.

What is Jericho?

For those unfamiliar with the television series, it debuted on CBS back in 2006 and ran for two seasons (really, more like one and a third). It focused on the small town of Jericho, Kansas that found itself cut off from the rest of the world after multiple nuclear strikes wiped out the infrastructure of the country. The people of the town had to band together and figure out how to deal with the hardships that faced them such as power outages and shortages of food and water. They also had to decide how to deal with outside threats as well as their own inner turmoil as they grew restless with the lack of information from the outside world. Eventually the people of Jericho reestablished limited contact with some of the neighboring towns and a new government calling itself the Allied States of America. But the country had changed drastically after the nuclear attacks and the people of Jericho were faced with tough decisions on where they would stand in this new order.

The series ran for a full season from 2006 to 2007 before CBS notoriously cancelled it which prompted an unprecedented fan response and a campaign that shipped tons of nuts to the network executives (based on a comment made in the season finale’s cliffhanger ending). This lead to CBS agreeing to a shortened second season (of seven episodes) which did not perform any better in the ratings resulting in the network once again cancelling the show.

What is the Jericho Comic Book?

After CBS cancelled the series for a second time, fans started up another campaign to save the show, but could not convince the network to give it one more chance. The producers tried shopping it around to other networks and cable outlets, but nothing came from their efforts. Still, they felt a strong enough commitment to this story that they decided to carry it on in some format and ultimately settled on a comic book continuation with the series titled Jericho Season 3 – Civil Wars. Devil’s Due Publishing put out the first three issues of what was to be a six issue mini-series, but they ran into some financial and distribution problems that cast the comic book into limbo. However, IDW stepped in and picked up the series, and released the remaining three issues. Issue # 6 ended on a cliffhanger with no indication on whether the series would continue. But IDW later announced the Jericho Season 4 which hit stores beginning in August 2012.
